Youth Homelessness

Programs & Services

Homelessness & Ryan's Place

Ryan’s Place stands as a beacon of hope for young individuals aged 18-24 facing the challenges of homelessness. It’s important to understand that youth homelessness comes in various forms, whether it involves staying in locations not suitable for human habitation or escaping domestic violence situations.

However, it’s crucial to note that Ryan’s Place is not just a “homeless shelter,” nor is it a drug rehabilitation program.

Honoring Ryan’s Legacy

Ryan’s Place pays tribute to Ryan White, a former client at the KCEOC Emergency Support Center who tragically passed away at the age of 18.

In his memory, Ryan’s Place is dedicated to realizing Ryan’s dream of providing a safe haven for youth as they transition into adulthood.

We operate under a HUD Youth Homeless Demonstration Program Grant.

We are distinct from neighboring programs, situated next to the KCEOC WIOA Office and The Sapling Center.

Our facility features four apartment units, each with two bedrooms, fully furnished with kitchen equipment, appliances, and furniture.

Clients receive essential supplies, bedding, and clothing as required for their apartments.

Our laundry room is available for client use at no cost.

A common area provides a space for group dinners, a living area with a TV, furniture, and a meeting area for Youth Voices meetings and workshops.
