KCEOC Community Action Partnership, Inc. would like to thank Walmart of Barbourville for their generous clothing donation to benefit clients facing hardships.
Walmart of Barbourville is a continually supporter of KCEOC Community Action Partnership and their local community. This December they decided to generously donate over $4,000.00 worth of goods, including shoes and clothing to KCEOC. These items will be used to assist children, families, and other clients experiencing hardship, facing poverty, and the Eastern KY flood victims.
Kendra Boggs of Walmart states, “We so glad that the merchandise was able to benefit our community, we know there’s people that need help and we’re excited to partner with an organization like KCEOC that helps people every day.”
As one of the original 23 Community Action Agencies formed in 1964 after President Lyndon Johnson declared a “War on Poverty,” KCEOC Community Action Partnership has been helping others help themselves for over 56 years. This help has come in many forms, from early childhood education, to housing and food assistance, to weatherizing homes, to providing emergency services. The agency has served thousands of area residents in need and is constantly developing new programming to meet the continuing needs of the people we serve, by adhering to our community action promise of helping people help themselves and each other.
Walmart of Barbourville’s donation will be used to give KCEOC clients that are experiencing hardship a hand up as on their journey to independence.
