A Path to Affordable Housing: Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA)

At KCEOC, we are committed to helping low-income households secure a safe and stable place to call home. Our Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) program, in collaboration with the Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC), offers financial support through grants to facilitate this journey.

How TBRA Can Make a Difference

TBRA is a lifeline for households seeking housing, particularly those experiencing homelessness.

Securing Your Spot

While we strive to assist as many families as possible, please note that our funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

A Swift Process

We understand the urgency of securing housing. Once we receive your application and all necessary verifications and landlord documents, TBRA can be approved within just 10 days.

Utility Deposit Assistance

TBRA can assist with utility deposits, but there are specific conditions to consider. We can help if your landlord requires a deposit, you don’t have an existing account/deposit with the utility company, and you don’t owe any outstanding balance to the utility company.

Navigating Rental Security Deposits

There is a limit to how much rental security deposit TBRA can cover. Landlords are not allowed to charge more than two months’ rent for the deposit, and it must be equal to or less than the monthly rent.
