KCEOC Community Action Partnership’s core funding is provided by the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG). CSBG originated from the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, which was enacted to fight poverty by empowering the poor as part of the War on Poverty. The development of Community Action Agencies, such as KCEOC, were a result of the Act. KCEOC is holding a public review of the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) proposal. The proposal is prepared annually by KCEOC and is submitted to the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and Community Action Kentucky. It describes KCEOC’s plan for use of the funds in the Knox County community, which includes agency capacity building, civic engagement and community involvement, employment, education & cognitive development, income/infrastructure/asset building, health & social/behavioral development, housing, linkages, and services supporting multiple domains. It also includes results of the local community needs assessment.
The proposal will be available on KCEOC’s website (www.kceoc.org) between 4/1/20222 and 4/8/2022. Please click here to view online. Comments or questions may be forwarded to Jennifer Smith, KCEOC Community Action Partnership, PO Box 490 Barbourville, KY 40906; or call toll-free at 800-880-3152 or 606-546-3152, extension 0300.
